Do you believe this to be true?

I went to the theater over the weekend and and saw "The Watchmen", The movie was really dark. Did any of you how saw the movie notice that the makers of the film seemed to attack established society norms?... like; instead of the famous picture published in TIME magazine of an American sailor kissing a young woman, there was a masculine kissing her? or Nixon being elected for a 5th term? we are so accepting of full female nudity, but often shy away from nude men (the giant member hanging off the indestructible man) the huge blue in your face most of the movie. There were more things but i'm forgetting them at the moment
